Comments and Ratings

I just changed the permissions of everyone to be able to make and view comments. I’ve activated the comments functionality but I was wondering why noone was using it. Well, it seems that you also need to specify who can do what :-/

Anyway, not everyone can check out the recent comments option and you are also able to add a new comment on any image you wish. I strongly suggest you take a moment to leave a positive comment on anything you find interesting as it will give more incentive to the artists to keep at it.

Also, you werer able from the start to rate items and albums, but I’ve rarely seen it used. This should also be an interesting way to bring the best pieces of art to the front. I’ve already set up the gallery to organize album items by rating so it’s worth taking a second to do it.

Just remember that in order to comment or rate, you must be looking at the detailed view. I am thinking of putting the comments and rating on the sidebar as well but I don’t want to clutter it too much.

Now that these functions are ready, I’ve made a suggestion to the forum to use the gallery as a collaboration base. I think that with comments tied to each image, along with rating and the power of the gallery it should make this job a bit easier.  Check out the idea and see what you think of it.
